Introducing a Kit feature...
Create a paid newsletter for your most engaged subscribers
Do you have content to share with your audience that they'd be prepared to pay for? If so, I have good news - you can do it easily using Kit.
Step 1 of 3
Create your paid newsletter
Firstly, give it a title - people connect more readily when they have something to hook onto. Let's work through this using a fictitious example - The 30-Minute Chef - a monthly email newsletter subscription, charged at $20/m.
The content in the paid newsletter, 'The 30-Minute Chef', is all about making delicious and healthy food in 30 minutes or less.
Each month, there's an edition that gives content covering the following;
- New recipes for 4 x breakfasts, 4 x lunches, and 4 x dinners.
- Tips on what to include in your meals to aid good general health.
- An interview with a guest chef.
- A video tutorial for 1 meal preparation.
- An invitation to send questions and receive replies.
Okay, so now we know what we're selling - a monthly newsletter. The creation of that newsletter can be done using any platform you wish; however, here's the easiest way;
- Create your recipes, including images, using Canva.
- Record your interview as an audio or video file and embed it in your email.
- Record your video tutorial using an overhead camera.
- Write the newsletter edition using Kit's email editor and make it aesthetically pleasing using white space, text decoration, and images.
Step 2 of 3
Sell your newsletter subscription
Inside Kit, navigate to the menu option 'Earn' > 'Products' to create your new newsletter subscription.
Once on the 'Products' page, configure your newsletter using the set-up feature and select a newsletter subscription.
Once you've completed the set up of the 'Product', you'll now have a published landing page to use as your sales page where subscribers can join.
Step 3 of 3
Share your newsletter subscription with customers
Once you've created your 'Product' and are crafting regular monthly newsletter editions, you need to share them with those who subscribed to the $20/m fee.
It's easy to do.
Just as you do with every other email broadcast you send, sharing your paid email is done in exactly the same way - albeit by applying a filter to your sender list.
Once it's ready to send, click on the 'Continue' button (little black button on bottom-right corner) and select 'Subscribed to' > 'Products', and choose your newsletter from your drop-down menu.
With the filter selected, hit the 'Send' button (or schedule in advance) and share your newsletter edition.
By using this filter, you'll automatically only send it to subscribers who have a valid subscription to your newsletter - if they unsubscribe at any point, Kit will exclude them from future editions.
