How I Created My Creator Profile Using ConvertKit

If you want somewhere online to showcase you and your products/services, ConvertKit offers a solution in the form of its 'Creator Profile'.

What is the 'Creator Profile'?

The clue's kinda in the name. it's a profile of you, the creator.

There are four main elements to your Creator Profile and each is optional, meaning you don't need to use all of them if you don't want to.

Here is a screenshot of my profile, together with a link if you want to visit it online;

You can check out my Creator Profile by clicking the button below;

The 4 elements of the Creator Profile

Let's look at how I set my profile up and why I use each of the 4 main elements, 'Posts', 'Links', 'Products' and 'Recommendations';

#1 - Posts

These are exactly what they sound like, 'posts' that you've created and have tagged as being made available for public consumption - in other words, anyone can read them, no matter whether they are an email subscriber of yours or not.

The process of creating 'posts' is simple. You need to create a 'Broadcast' email inside ConvertKit (menu option: 'Send' -> 'Broadcast'), crafting the content that you want to share with your audience.

Once you're happy with the content of the email, you can make it publicly available by selecting the 'Publish to web' option; (see image below)

This option will make it appear in your feed of posts within your Creator Profile.

#2 - Links

These are just what they sound like, links to other digital assets that you might want to share with your audience.

These can be any digital link that you can think of, but you want to focus on those that help to showcase your skills, experience, and the social channels on which you're active.

#3 - Products

These are the Products that you have created using ConvertKit's Commerce platform (menu option: 'Earn' -> 'Products').

The Commerce platform is a very easy and convenient way to present and sell your products and services - it's connected to the Stripe payment platform, so collecting funds is super simple.

Below is an example of a couple of my Products that I have listed on my Creator Profile;

#4 - Recommendations

These are people who also have Creator Profiles on ConvertKit and whom I believe will add value to my audience, so they become suggestions for subscribing whenever someone joins my email list.

You can select as many other Creators to recommend as you wish, and the algorithm will serve them up in a round-robin fashion, meaning each gets their fair share of exposure.

The beauty of this feature is that it's also a way for me to grow my network when other Creators recommend me.

It's worth noting that recommending Creators doesn't have to be reciprocal because it doesn't always make sense to do so.

Just have a look through the database of possible recommendations and add those people you believe would help your subscribers.

The look and feel of your Creator Profile

ConvertKit offers a few templates to choose from when deciding on how you want your profile to look, and with each one, you can further personalise it to make it look more like your brand.

Summary

Even if you don't have a website, you can still have a digital home from which to showcase you and your business.

The Creator Profile comes free with ConvertKit, so it doesn't make sense to NOT use it - it would be a wasted opportunity to use a perfectly useful platform.

⚡️What to do now...

Create a free account on ConvertKit today and begin to design your Creator Profile. Once you have it looking the way you want it, start to share the link on your social channels and in your emails - this will drive traffic to the content you share.

It's a pretty straightforward process to set up, but if you need any help, just let me know - I'm happy to jump in and give some pointers.

P.S. Also, once you have it set up, share your link so that I can see what you've done with it - I'm always looking for inspirational ideas from others.
